Usage Allocation

The system for how usage of a shared second home is distributed among co-owners — through lottery, rotation, or free booking.

Usage allocation determines how co-owners divide the use of a shared property throughout the year. There are several models:

Models for usage allocation

Free booking

Everyone books freely in a shared calendar. First come, first served. Works best for small groups with even usage.

Lottery

Popular weeks (holidays, summer) are distributed by random draw. The rest of the year is free booking. Objectively fair.

Priority system

Each owner has priority points to spend on desired weeks. Those who spend the most points win. Points rotate annually.

Fixed rotation

Popular weeks rotate in a fixed pattern. Family A gets Easter this year, Family B next year. Predictable.

Bungaflow's solution

Bungaflow has built-in calendar allocation supporting lottery and priority systems. The admin creates a season, everyone submits wishes, and the draw happens in the app.
